Company History
Mr. James H. Pritchett, MAI, founded our predecessor company “Pritchett & Company” in 1954. Since its inception, the Company name has changed to reflect Partners leading the firm, with the most recent iteration being Pritchett, Ball & Wise, Inc. In 2002, Mr. Pritchett passed. In 2007 and 2014, Mr. Wise and Mr. Ball retired. Paying homage to the Founder, the Company is presently doing business as Pritchett Appraisal.
Current Principals of the firm include Andy Sheppard, MAI, R-W/AC, and George S. Petkovich, MAI, CCIM, both of whom were trained by and worked alongside Mr. Pritchett, Mr. Ball, and Mr. Wise since 1998 and 1996, respectively. Both Principals graduated with degrees in Real Estate from Georgia State University, both hold the esteemed MAI designation, both are affiliated with other educational providers, and both are highly active in leadership and teaching roles within the Appraisal Institute.
What we do
Appraisal
We provide appraisals, verbally or in a written Appraisal Report form, conforming to all applicable valuation standards. We appraise a wide variety of property types and ownership interests.
We specialize in atypical property types, but we limit our involvement to assignments where we have ample knowledge of the submarket, the property type, and the appraisal issues needed to solve the appraisal problem.
Consulting / Review
We take pride in providing honest answers for Clients in their time of need, which may or may not include an Appraisal Report. We regularly offer reviews of Appraisal Reports completed by others or provide a verbal opinion of value as a check against the reasonableness of a condemnation offer or tax appeal matter. Additionally, we enjoy educating our Clients on appraisal terminology / methodology needed to solve the appraisal problem.
Litigation Support
We regularly offer deposition or direct testimony / rebuttal services for clients who need a real property appraisal expert witness.
We are skilled at navigating the process of appraising real property to the highest standard(s) required for such purposes, including USPAP and UASFLA development and reporting standards.
